According to State Law, the Town Clerk maintains custody of all the records, books and papers of the town, attends all meetings of the town board, acts as clerk thereof, and keeps a complete and accurate record of the proceedings of each meeting, and of all propositions adopted.

The Clerk also files all certificates or oaths and other papers required by law to be filed, and issues all licenses or permits, and collect all fees for these licenses.

The Clerk’s office is in the Town Office Building on State Route 22 (22 Champlain Ave.). The office is open daily, Monday – Friday (except holidays) from 7 AM to 3 PM, closed for lunch from noon to 1 PM.

The Town Clerk is an elected official and serves for a four year term.
